Not all Memory Foam dog beds are the same. It starts with the foam – we have a unique dual layer construction with Vasco 40 Memory Foam on top and Support Foam underneath to protect your dog from cold, hard floors. Then we protect the foam with an extraordinary soft, breathable and waterproof Mattress Protector which acts as a barrier to stop dander and dirt from getting into the foam, plus it has an anti-microbial-treatment that actively discourages dust mites, bacteria and other organic nasties such has mould and mildew. And then we finish the whole thing is stunning Faroe – a beautiful upholstery fabric with the look and feel of wool but with a resilience that makes it suitable for use in heavy commercial settings.   • Outer Covers in Faroe - the look and feel of a beautiful upholstery wool without the maintenance headache. Behind the stylish good looks are some serious performance credentials - a Martindale Rub Score of 100,000 (suitable for upholstery in severe contract settings) and a FibreGuard stain-guard treatment washed in. FibreGuard is manufactured without releasing harmful finishes or chemicals into the world and certified under the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

  • Anti-Microbial Mattress Protector – a brilliantly technical fabric that is waterproof but breathable and anti-microbial too – actively discouraging dust mites, bacteria, mould, mildew and other unwelcome nasties. The fabric used on our Anti-Microbial Protector is more commonly used to seal and protect mattresses on human beds in healthcare settings to maintain the highest hygiene standards.

  • Memory Foam Mattress Base – provides orthopaedic support with a top layer of Vasco 40 Memory Foam bonded to a Support Foam layer that protects your dog from hard, cold floors. As you’d expect from Charley Chau, our Memory Foam Mattress is made from single pieces of cut foam, not offcuts glued together, or “shreds” as often used by other dog bedding companies. Memory Foam moulds to the body as it warms up and provides unrivalled support without any pressure points. Brilliant for dogs at any life stage but especially in their senior years.

  • Feather Bolster Pads (optional) – they can be squished and squashed but will always come back to shape. Our Feather Pads have a feather-proof polycotton casing and our filled with ethically sourced duck-feathers from a Downpass certified supplier in Germany. This means that the feathers used in our pads are a by-product of the food industry and humanely sourced, i.e. not collected from live animals, nor from the foie gras industry.

Fully removable covers. Outer covers, Anti-Microbial Protector (on the mattress), internal feather pads and optional Waterproof Liners (for the optional Mini Bolster Pads) are all machine washable.

We supply the Anti-Microbial Mattress Protector with the Memory Foam Mattress to provide superior levels of protection because memory foam is not machine washable. To keep the Memory Foam Base hygienically clean, only allow your dog to use the bed with the Anti-Microbial Protector in place.

Washcare labels are stitched into every component part of a Charley Chau bed and blanket for ease of reference on wash days.
